Norfolk Broads Yacht Club maintains a high standard of training throughout the season. We are only too pleased to accomodate our members needs. From training young juniors just beginning to sail to adult courses where you may like to improve a particular skill, everyone is guaranteed to have a lot of fun...just another reason why our week long Easter Sailing School and Summer Sailing School are so popular!
Other training courses for adults and young people at NBYC can now be arranged to suit members requirements, rather than to a formal pre-set programme. In this way we can run the right number of courses at the appropriate level to suit the needs of our Members.
Other courses available:
RYA First Aid, Powerboat Level 2 (including direct assessment for experienced power boat drivers), Safety boat (Level 2 powerboat is a pre-requisite for this course), Junior Sailing, Team Racing, Junior Race Training. Start Racing: Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4. Wiggles (for 6 & 7 year olds only), Racing rules for beginners and improvers, Improve your Roll Tacking & Gybing (Stage 3 and above), Seamanship Skills, Sailing with Spinnakers, Dinghy Instructors course.
Depending on the type of course a minimum number of participants is usually required. Where possible the Office will match your training requirements with others interested in similar courses.
The Club owns nine Toppers and four Optibats. Please contact the Office first if you wish to use one of the Club boats. The Club also has access (by prior arrangement) to the boats owned by 8th Norwich Sea Scout Group which can be made available for some training and junior events.
